Buckin and Pluckin

The Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention strummed its way into Athens, Ala., for the 41st year. The two day event includes in addition to fiddle contests a buck dancing, and band competition. The bands usually form from people who come to the event and just start playing together. You can walk through the campus of Athens State University and smell the hamburgers cooking and funnel cakes being blanketed with powdered sugar. There is even vendor selling anything from soy candles to foam snakes and lizards. Click on either image to see more pictures and sound from the convention at The Decatur Daily website.
