Too Close for Comfort

While on assignment during a Triathlon my attention was drawn away from the action and directed at an immature Red Tailed Hawk enjoying a morning meal of rabbit. What surprised me most was the fact that the raptor let me get as close as i did before he flew away. This image was made at full frame 200mm with a Canon 1D. I probably walked 100 ft from the time I initially spotted the bird until he eventually gave up thinking he could defend his meal and flew away.
